3J Services were approached by Shrewsbury Town Football Club, who, in their constant quest to improve the experience their fans have at matches, were looking to create a brand new fan zone within their stadium. The club already had some containers on site which were starting to look a little worse for wear, so, they not only wanted to expand on their existing offering but also freshen it up, keeping their club colours and identity at the centre of the end product.
The club wanted to reveal the new fan zone at the opening match of the season, but, we didn’t have much time! They only got in touch with us a matter of weeks before, but, you know us, we love a challenge! We worked hard with the fantastic team at Shrewsbury Town to understand their needs and meet budgets and timescales.
3J took away the old 20ft bar used at the club and replaced it with a 40ft new container modified to accommodate bar equipment and to easily serve customers. The bar accommodates 12 taps giving the fans a fabulous choice! We cut apertures in the container walls and re-enforced them and fitted a canteen unit and worktop and installed various steel plates and angle ready for the shop-fitters to mount equipment onto.
A further 2 x 20ft new containers were provided which, along with some units that the club already had on site, helped to provide a base structure to attach an enormous canopy keeping the fans dry before the match. The existing units on site had started to look a little tired so 3J’s experienced mobile team got to site straight away to give them a refreshing paint jobs, you would struggle to know now which was an older unit and which was brand new!
We met the deadline (of course) and the club were thrilled with the finished product. We are pleased to say that this has forged a fantastic relationship between Shrewsbury Town Football Club and 3J Services with 3J now advertising (with an enormous banner!!!) in the fanzone and sponsoring the match ball on a couple of occasions. We hope to see you at the Croud Meadow soon!
