Cut Down Storage Containers and Alternative Sizes

It’s common practice now to cut standard shipping containers down to form new sizes of steel stores, such as 8ft, 9ft, 10ft, 12ft, 16ft, 24ft, 30ft and 32ft units. All containers are 8ft wide so if we are utilising a standard container, the cut down container will always have to be 8ft wide.  However, we can custom build ‘container type’ units from scratch to virtually any length / width / height specification, although as you would expect, there is a cost implication to this. The cut down containers are made to order so can be cut to any size needed between 1ft and 44ft! When containers are cut down, they can be cut from the cargo door end, the front wall or have a section taken out of the middle. If we take a section out of the middle of the container, the two original ends can be welded back together to form what looks like a normal shipping container. Cutting a shipping container in this method allows us to retain the corner castings and strong corner posts as well as the original front wall and double cargo doors. It also leaves us with a centre section that can be re-ended with a new set of doors and new front wall, or doors either end if a tunnel container is needed.
