New (Once Shipped) 20ft Containers
New 20ft containers will have been built (most likely in China) and filled with cargo, the container then will have been loaded on a shipping vessel where it begins its journey around the world with the cargo being loaded and un-loaded as required. The container then finishes its journey in the UK where the container is emptied and enters the UK domestic market. They are sometimes known as ‘one-way’ or ‘once shipped’ containers.
New 20ft or 6 metre containers are our most popular container, their size can be compared roughly to a single garage so they have plenty of room! 20ft containers can be used for storage or shipping and are available anywhere in the UK. New 20ft steel containers are also available in a high cube version providing an extra foot of height for those oversized items. They also tend to come with a lockbox as standard.
New 20ft Container Colours
New 20ft containers are typically available in a choice of colours, with the most popular being green (RAL 6007) and blue (RAL 5013), although other colours may be available depending on stock.

Used 20ft Containers
Used 20ft containers have been owned for several years by a shipping line who have used the containers on a number of occasions to ship goods around the UK. A used 20ft container enters the market when the contract with the leasing company has expired. Used containers are usually at least 15 years old, however, their age should not influence your buying decision, the grade, or quality should. Our used 20ft containers are checked upon entering and before leaving our storage depots. They are weather proof and although they may not look too pretty, we still expect them (with the right upkeep) to last you around 10 – 15 years. Despite any cosmetic imperfections, every used container we supply is thoroughly inspected to ensure it remains wind and watertight, structurally sound and suitable for secure storage.
Used 20ft Container Colours
20ft used containers vary in colour depending on the shipping line they originally belonged to. The most common colours are harvest gold, brown (red oxide), blue and grey. Green containers are occasionally available, although these are less common and cannot always be guaranteed.
