There were a number of containers on site with varied problems ranging from difficulties opening the container doors to out of line lockboxes and failing door seals.
The site was in Bristol and we were given some initial information about the repairs, however, it was difficult to ascertain the extent of the issues without a site visit which would have been an extra cost to the customer. To avoid this, we pragmatically worked with the client in order to build a pricing structure that everyone would be happy with. We agreed the mileage, an overnight stay and an initial number of hours and expected materials with an agreement for extra hours and materials with a limit.
We issued risk assessments and method statements and upon arrival to site our operative completed an induction. We were very pleased to have used minimal materials and time and resolved all of the customers issues, they were extremely pleased with the service they had received and the increased longevity that their containers now had, they commended our ‘common sense approach’.
