Here at 3J, we import a variety of containers with units arriving at our supporting depots up and down the country on a daily basis. Our forward planning and strong lines of supply mean that we can see trends quickly and respond accordingly.
We therefore want to share with you that we are expecting imminent price rises and supply issues with new equipment over the coming months as shipping lines struggle to find cargo to bring into the UK. Whilst we do not see supply issues with used equipment, historically, when new equipment becomes more expensive and in higher demand, this has an effect in the price of used equipment… and the quality available.
Whether you are a new customer or we have supplied 100’s of containers to you, we want to make you aware that prices may change in the coming months. We will only be honouring quotations for a period of one week without having to requote (despite holding stocks of over 250 containers on a daily basis, with 100s on the water, this is how quickly it changes) and existing customers might see some price changes.
We will of course work with you to deliver the best product at the best price. To do this, we might ask for some more flexibility in delivery lead times or ask you to share a load with another customer when you are having a single container. Existing customers might wish to consider pre-ordering a month or so in advance to give us some time to fulfil your order.
Whilst we do love a challenge, to get you the best deal at the moment, we would appreciate your help in forward planning and pre-empting… we’d rather have more in our supply than let you down.
To be clear, we will not be able to sustain current pricing. Shipping lines do not have sufficient cargo to offset shipping costs against carrying cargo, we will therefore have to contribute to those costs moving forward. It seems at the moment that this could increase costs by $200-300.
