Client Profile
Our client is a leading bioenergy specialist, working across the business, domestic and public sectors throughout the UK and Ireland to deliver efficient, low-carbon heating and cooling solutions.
Project Overview
Our client required a bespoke modular steel plant room to house and support a biomass heating system for an installation project in Ireland. The plant room needed to be purpose-built to accommodate large-scale biomass boilers while allowing for specialist installation requirements.
The Challenge
The project presented several technical and logistical challenges:
- The system needed to house two biomass boilers
- Installation access was required via the roof, due to the size and handling constraints of the equipment
- The structure had to be engineered to precise specifications, based on the client’s concept design
- The plant room needed to be robust, modular, transportable, and suitable for overseas delivery
This required a highly coordinated design-and-build approach, with absolute precision in structural engineering and fabrication.
The Final Solution
We delivered a bespoke steel modular plant room, designed and built based on the client’s concept design and specification, and our detailed engineering drawings and structural design. The finished modular plant room was delivered to specification and fully met the client’s technical and operational requirements. The removable roof design enabled seamless installation of the biomass boilers, reducing on-site complexity and installation time. Our client was very happy with their plant room, confirming it met both their design intent and operational needs.
