The Brief
A Shropshire based electrical business required a new spacious storage area to support their business operations. The project involved creating a substantial 320ft linked storage facility, incorporating three 20ft new one trip shipping containers with bespoke modifications to provide practical access, security and functionality.
The Challenge
The containers required extensive modifications to create a connected space, while maintaining structural integrity and providing convenient access for people and equipment. The finished installation also needed to complement the surrounding premises, with a modern grey exterior and secure access points.
Our Solution
3J Services supplied three 20ft new one trip shipping containers, finished in RAL7016 Anthracite Grey, and carried out the following modifications:
- Removed four sides and installed box section reinforcement to strengthen the top rail.
- Supplied and fitted a 10-point locking personnel door for secure access.
- Installed a 900mm x 900mm single-glazed sliding window with shutters.
- Supplied and fitted an 8ft electrically operated galvanised roller shutter, complete with remote control and manual override.
- Supplied nine sleepers to support the installation.
- Linked and sealed the containers to create a connected storage area.
The Result
The completed project provides our customer with a substantial 320ft linked storage area, combining the strength and durability of new shipping containers with the practicality of bespoke modifications. With reinforced structural sections, secure personnel access, natural light and an electrically operated roller shutter, the facility offers a versatile and functional space tailored to the customer’s requirements.
