The Brief
An existing client of ours, a self-storage site in Lancashire, required a bespoke storage container to make use of an awkwardly sized void within their existing site layout. Our client provided us with the available measurements, allowing us to develop a made-to-measure solution that would fit the space and provide additional storage capacity.
The Challenge
The available space was too small to accommodate either a standard 10ft x 8ft or 20ft x 8ft storage container. With neither of the conventional sizes suitable, a different approach was needed to ensure the space could be put to practical use.
Our Solution
Working from the measurements supplied by the customer, we cut an existing container down to 6ft x 5ft, tailored specifically to fit the available void. By moving away from standard container dimensions, we were able to provide a solution that addressed the site’s space restrictions. The custom build demonstrates our ability to adapt to individual project requirements and deliver storage solutions for spaces where off-the-shelf options aren’t suitable.
The Result
The completed 16ft x 5ft container provides a practical solution for the self-storage site, helping to make use of an area that couldn’t accommodate a standard-sized unit. This project highlights the benefits of bespoke manufacturing for self-storage operators, offering greater flexibility when working with unusual site layouts and restricted spaces. By building to the customer’s measurements, we delivered a solution designed around the site rather than forcing a standard unit into an unsuitable space.
